Maximilian Schweiger (MAXONSAX) a native of Austria, is a top notch saxophone and woodwind player and has been a professional musician on the New York music scene for more than 30 years. He performed on stages around the world with international Jazz, Pop, and R&B stars including the Four Tops, Temptations, Wynton Marsalis, Paquito D’Rivera, Deborah Gibson, Frankie Valli, The Funkbrothers Band, The Marvelettes, Chico O’Farrill, Arturo O’Farrill and many more. He can be seen and heard in the “PBS Motown Special”, the movies “Calle 54”and “Ray”. Some of the recordings include the 2014 Latin Grammy winning album "Final Night at Birdland" and Grammy nominated recording “Carambola” with the Chico O’Farrill Afro Cuban Jazz Orchestra, the Willie Martinez Latin Jazz Sextett La Familia "After Winter, Spring"a.o. He also has performed in on and off Broadway Productions including “Fosse”, “Grease”, and “Memphis”. Maximilian is a longtime member of Willie Martinez’ Latin Jazz Sextet “La Familia” and is a band leader in his own right.
